Our Mission

To advance English language proficiency through engaging and compelling lessons that encourage the love of learning. Students gain confidence inside and outside the classroom that drive individual achievement.

I am a certified English as a New Language teacher with experience teaching children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade in the Westchester County, New York Public School system. Although I enjoyed my experience in the school system, I get most of my inspiration from working with individual students and watching them develop and gain confidence. My lessons are specifically tailored to each student’s goals, needs and interests and are based on NYSED Bilingual Common Core Progressions. Lessons support the school curriculum and help children become successful learners in the classroom. I make sure to include periodic assessment that show growth in each student’s learning. I am a Native English speaker with TESOL certification in both New York and Connecticut and a Masters degree in TESOL from Manhattanville College. I enjoy working with adult English Language Learners as well and have experience teaching the parents, friends and relatives of my younger students.

The earlier part of my career was spent in advertising so I have a particular sensitivity to the impact of the visual message and engagement factor of my lessons with an emphasis on using the latest technology. I have always had a passion for reading and writing and truly enjoy spreading that love of the English language to my students. I am also a student of the Spanish language having spent time abroad expanding my listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and, therefore, I have a sensitivity to the nuances, frustrations and insecurities of learning a new language.
